01 — Design

Lighting design, from first sketch to switch-on.

Lighting design is our discipline, not an afterthought bolted onto someone else's plan. We work alongside architects and interior designers from concept through to commissioning, building layered lighting schemes — ambient, task and accent — that shape how a space feels after dark as much as how it looks by day.

Every scheme is drawn up as a concept narrative first: where light falls, where it disappears, and what it does to the architecture around it. That thinking is what separates a lit room from a designed one.

02 — Decorative

The world's best decorative lighting, curated.

We supply a wide range of renowned decorative lighting brands and ranges sourced from around the world — pendants, chandeliers, wall lights and statement fixtures selected for craftsmanship, not just catalogue appeal. Our decorative house, DARK, carries sculptural, luxury lighting for interiors that ask for something singular.

Whether it's a single showpiece over a kitchen island or a full suite of bedside, wall and pendant fittings across a home, our showroom teams help clients specify decorative lighting that suits the architecture, the budget and the brief.

03 — Technical

Specified, tested, and delivered to perform.

Behind every good-looking scheme is a technically sound one. Our technical team produces photometric design and lighting calculations in Relux and DIALux, layouts and documentation in AutoCAD and Revit (BIM), and luminaire schedules specified to tender standard.

As a certified LOA lab partner, we test what we specify — driver compatibility, dimming curves, glare and lumen output — so what gets installed on site matches what was promised in the drawing set. Our technical arm, LUCENT, extends this into a fully tested driver, channel, strip and fixture stack for the commercial LED specifier.

04 — Manufacturing

Built in our own factory, by our own hands.

Not every fixture a project needs exists off the shelf. Where a brief calls for something bespoke — a scaled chandelier, an architectural cove detail, a fixture shaped to fit a stair no two projects share — we design and manufacture it ourselves, in-house, at our Kramerville factory.

CNC routing, metal fabrication and welding, joinery and hand-finishing all happen under one roof, giving us control over lead times, quality and cost that a purely import-and-supply model can't match.

05 — Landscape & Exterior

The garden, the façade, the approach.

A property doesn't end at the front door. We design and supply landscape and exterior lighting that grazes façades, up-lights palms and trees, edges pathways and pools, and turns a driveway arrival into part of the architectural experience — all specified to withstand outdoor conditions without compromising on light quality.

Done well, exterior lighting should barely be seen and always be felt — the driveway strip that disappears into the concrete, the uplight that disappears into the wall.

06 — Hospitality

Lighting that carries the guest experience.

In hospitality, lighting sets the mood before a single dish arrives or a guest checks in. We've lit boutique hotels, resorts, restaurants and hospitality lounges across Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean region, from sculptural statement installations to the quiet, layered ambience of a guest suite.

Every hospitality scheme is built to run reliably at scale — long operating hours, multiple zones, dimming scenes for day and night service — while still delivering the atmosphere the brand promises.

07 — Residential

Homes, lit room by room.

No residential project is complete without lighting considered as carefully as the architecture itself. We design and supply residential lighting schemes room by room — bedrooms, kitchens, living areas, corridors and outdoor entertainment spaces — balancing decorative statement pieces with the technical layers that make a home comfortable to actually live in.

From a single pendant that anchors a kitchen island to a full-house lighting design and supply package for a new build, we scale to the brief.

08 — Corporate & Project Management

End-to-end delivery, one point of accountability.

For commercial, corporate, healthcare and larger residential schemes, we manage the full project lifecycle — ideation, design, specification, supply and on-site completion — as a single accountable process rather than a series of handoffs between suppliers.

That means one team tracking budget, lead times and site programme from concept to final commissioning, reducing the risk of delays and cost surprises that come from managing design, supply and installation separately.

09 — Supply, Import & Logistics

Our own import licences. Local & global delivery.

Streamlight FX (Pty) Ltd holds its own import and export licences, giving us direct control over sourcing, lead times and pricing on the decorative and technical ranges we specify — rather than relying on third-party distributors. We deliver locally across South Africa and internationally through our Mauritius and Zambia showrooms, serving the broader SADC and Indian Ocean region.

That control extends to after-sales: spares, replacement drivers and warranty support are handled directly, not passed down an import chain.
